Food is the only source of energy for human body. We are what we eat. How we feel depends upon what we eat. There are some food items that make us feel lazy when we eat them. Healthy food gives good energy for prolonged time. However, there are few food items which make us feel sleepy, tired or drained.
Every human wishes to be energetic throughout the day and to be in a happy mood.
Our energy levels depend upon what we eat, how we eat and when we eat throughout the day.

Some food items should be avoided totally or if consumed, they should be prepared and eaten in a way beneficial to human body.

It is better if you avoid any refined food item because, they are processed to an extent that they lose their nutrition value. Processed food has almost zero nutrition value which means it is of no use to human body in literal terms.
Refined food cannot provide energy for longer period of time.
You will feel hungry even after having your meal and tend to over eat which in turn will add those extra calories as well as extra weight to your body.

You lose energy very fast and you start feeling tired and sluggish, when you feed refined food items to your body on regular basis.
#FRIED AND OILY FOOD 🍟 🍤 🌭
Fried food has a kind of fat that is not good for human body. Our body needs to do some extra work when processing and digesting fried oily food. It is not easy for any human body to digest fried food. Energy we get from meals we eat and energy we need for daily activities is instead used to digest fatty fried food.
This is another reason you will feel tired or less energetic.
Having a controlled portion of fried food items rather than avoiding them completely, is a good way to satisfy your craving and keeping your body healthy.

It is beneficial to avoid processed white sugar for many reasons. Processed white sugar makes us feel lazy and lends a helping hand in adding unhealthy fat to your body. Glycemic index of sugar is high which means, they get absorbed into your blood very fast and cause hike in blood sugar levels abruptly.
This causes insulin imbalance in human body which results in diabetes.
Sugar provides you with instant energy but for a shorter period of time. You get energy instantly also you lose energy instantly. Artificial processed sugar also disturbs insulin hormone in human body.
Replacing artificial sugars with natural sweeteners like honey, jaggery etc. will help you to satisfy your sugar craving without compromising your health.
#JUNK FOOD / PACKAGED AND READY TO EAT FOOD 🍕 🥠 🌮 🍢 🍜
Junk food does taste good but it is called JUNK for a reason. It adds zero nutritional value to our body. Packaged and ready to eat food items contains excessive artificial preservatives and unhealthy amount of processed salt and sugar.
Junk food items also have highly processed trans fats and carbohydrates which actually have bad effects on digestive track of human body and cause irreversible damage to many body parts.

Eating junk and/or packaged food affects our mental as well as physical health. Eating freshly prepared food is always good for human body and mind.
#CHERRIES 🍒
This red vibrant fruit has numerous qualities good for human body. However, not many people know this one thing about cherries. Cherries are high in melatonin, a sleep inducing hormone. Avoid eating cherries during the day. Eat cherries in the evening or at night.
Eating a helping of cherries an hour or two before going to bed can help you sleep soundly.

The first thing that comes to your mind after you read “enriched” is the nutrition and health benefits of this food item. However, enriched wheat is a type of processed wheat from which fiber, magnesium, potassium is totally extracted and whole different kinds of nutrients are pumped into this wheat. Eating this polished wheat disturbs insulin hormone in human body. Disturbance in insulin hormone is the main cause of health disorders like diabetes.

Other food items which can make you feel tired and drained are hydrogenated fats, diet soda. Hydrogenated fat gets stored in human body and results into obesity.

Claims such as diet soda does not contain sugar or contains zero calories are futile, I feel. Those are chemically processed drinks, and anything processed is not that good for human body functioning.

Any food which our body is not able to digest easily makes us feel tired. Proper eating habits can keep us energetic. Nurturing our minds is all we need to do, to keep our mind and body healthy. 😊
