CARDIAC ARREST OR HEART ATTACK?
Why Does it Matter?
While we are about to enter 2023, there are more people dying from cardiac arrest than ever before. All around the planet.
We come across at least one case each day. Numbers are telling a story.
Reason this is happening?
Stress? Maybe
Something we have been forced to inject in our bodies post 2020, in the name of shield? MAY BE!
Let’s not talk about that for now.
Cardiac disorders or heart associated issue are not new to us humans since medical science came into existence.
But we often use the terms “Heart Attack” and “Cardiac Arrest” interchangeably when talking about heart problems.

What Is The Difference Between HEART ATTACK AND CARDIAC ARREST 🫀
Let me tell you. These two are absolutely two different phenomena. And are to be used carefully when describing it to medical professionals.
After all, it’s a matter of heart here.
The latter one is fatal while we have chances to save a life in case it is the former one.
Here are some major differences between Heart Attack and Cardiac Arrest. Based on the symptoms.
Heart Attack 🫀
An attack happens when there is a blockage in the path of blood pumping in and out of the heart.
A person having a heart attack is for the most part conscious.
It’s similar to a clogged sink pipe. You can unclog the path to bring the blood circulation back to normal.

Based on the intensity of clogging or say the number of blockages, the treatment is chosen. It also is highly based on the medical history of the patient being treated.
It’s either a drug that is used to burst the clot or a stent used to open the artery to either make way for blood flow through the blockage or displace clot, depending on the condition of person being treated.
You need to act within an hour after the attack symptoms are seen. CPR and or Defibrillator isn’t recommended in cases of heart attack.
Getting rid of the blockage is the priority here. Before the clot turns into permanent damage. Life can be saved.
In most cases IT IS NOT FATAL.
Cardiac Arrest 🫀
Arrest happens when our heart falls short of the energy it needs to pump blood (Cardiac Arrhythmia). By energy I mean, the electricity or strength it needs to function.
It stops beating altogether. Blood flow from and to the heart stops abruptly. Further affecting blood circulation along with oxygen provided to vital organs.
Proper CPR within 5 to 7 minutes of ‘arrest – stoppage of complete heart function’ can help save a life, before it turns into permanent brain damage. Which we in general know as being brain-dead.

A defibrillator is employed in these cases along with chest compressions.
A Person having Cardiac Arrest is mostly unconscious.
In most cases, cardiac arrests are observed to result in death right away.
IT IS FATAL.
