WHY CAN’T YOU STOP EATING SUGAR??


Sugar is similar to any other habit inducing substance. When you consume sugar for a longer period of time it is hard to stop sugar intake. Because sugar is addictive.

Human body starts developing sugar withdrawal symptoms, which are similar to drugs withdrawal symptoms. Which is why not many humans can actually stop consuming sugar even if they want to.

Now lets see some of the main reasons why people like to consume sugar.

TASTE

TASTESugar adds taste to many processed and home cooked meals. And because we are taste driven, large companies make sure they add large amounts of sugar to the products, in order to satisfy our cravings and gain profit from it.

We get what we ask for. Artificial forms of sugar and salt are added to food items because we like to buy such food items on regular and on large scale.

PLEASURE

PLEASURE – Tasty sugary food triggers our pleasure points. The reason most of us binge on ice-cream when in stress is, this pleasure or bliss point.

Whenever you buy food items check the amount of sugar in it. You will notice all those food items like cola, sodas, candies, processed ready to eat meals have sugar in natural and artificial form added to them in amounts that are surprisingly high.

MYTHS

MYTHSThere is this myth that sugar is bad cause it has empty calories. However, there are many foods that have empty calories. Sugar is bad because of what it does to our human body.

Excess of any type of sugar goes to liver, the liver has no choice other than converting it into liver fat (fatty liver) which then leads to many complicated and serious illnesses, affecting other properly functioning organs in our body.

Refined processed sugar causes wrinkles, dark circles, pimples. Sugar is also responsible for weight gain, type2 diabetes, gums & teeth problems, and heart issues.

Too much sugar also does affect our brain. It shuts down the part of brain which tells us when we are full. And guess what? It results into obesity, if this continues for a longer period of time.

BUSY STRESSFUL ROUTINEBusy routine might force you to eat pre made meals which contain high amounts of salt and sugar. I understand. However, choose the best from the worst is all I can say.

Food industries try their best to make you buy processed food. And by best I mean, they do not care how unhealthy or bad the added artificial forms of sugar, is for our human body. Self awareness is the key.

Eat what is right for you. Diet should always be according to your body type. Sugar in general when consumed in excess is bad for all of us. Especially during vid19 times.
